HANDMADE PAPER PICTURES
How I love making paper – it is a therapeutic and magical
activity – a unique sheet of paper emerging from what was waste
paper and water – it’s great – especially as you
never know how the sheet will look until it is out of the mould and
completely dry. Each piece is distinctive and therefore
interesting in it’s own right. There is also a creative
connection with a time long since gone, when paper making was first
discovered.
I use old envelopes mostly, tearing them into small pieces and soaking
them in water ready for use. The different colours arise from the
original source material used – sometimes very pale, other times
incredibly vivid – it all adds to the mystery.
Displayed at the moment are some works created using the paper I have
made. If you like the design, but would like a different colour
to match your décor, let me know – I will enjoy making
more paper specifically for you!
