Went on a trip to Barcelona so asked Stansted Airport if I could place handmade postcards in the airport requesting the finder to take the postcard on a journey and then let me know where it got to. Heard from Edinburgh, Russia and Los Angeles!
2001 September
1) Exhibition at The Galley, UCN, Northampton, during the Northamptonshire Open Studios event. This was an ‘Only Frontier’ exhibition – 4 artists of which I am one, who have formed a group to support and encourage each others work. Our work includes, sculpture, photography, painting and printmaking. We meet at least once a month and thrash out ideas over dinner. We hit on the idea of having a dinner party in the gallery, instead of the usual private view. We had a very select guest list. The dinner party was an enormous success and we will definitely do it again.

2) Invited by organisers of Open Studios to provide a balloon launch at their main event at Roadmender. Attended by over 200 people and local media, this was a very successful event.

Awarded a commission, via a competition to make a piece of work for display in the reception area of the Barclaycard Head Office. The work measures 10ft x 4ft on 4 light boxes. It is a mosaic of items collected from employees and preserved in resin. I was particularly interested in creating a piece of work that reflected the integral part employees play in the existence of the company
  March
1) UCN Spring Show, Northampton. Two works. Photographic works on luggage tags and an interactive piece where luggage labels are sent on journeys via helium filled balloons. Responses were ultimately received from various UK and European locations.

2) Exhibition in Galley 47, Great Russell Street, London. Four photographic works.
  February
For UCN Rag Week, myself and 4 others organised an exhibition at The Gallery, UCN. Works were subject to a jury inspection, the entry fee going to charity. We had an open evening and raised over £200.00. I exhibited one work. The exhibition contained 45 works by 43 artists – a great deal of organising was involved which was an extremely valuable experience.
2000 December
Candid Arts Trust, Molina, Nr. Naples, Italy. A 10 day trip working alongside the local blacksmith as part of a team of 11. We made life size models in metal of the local school children – the future of a place with a long history of disaster – and placed them in a presently derelict area scheduled to become a sculpture park. We stayed in the local convent and were fed every day by different local families. An extraordinary experience that will live with me forever.
